Auto Enrolment is still very much on the radar at Beststart HR with many thousands of SMEs reaching their staging dates this year. The latest figures, according to the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP), up to the end of September 2015, state that more than 5.47m workers have been automatically enrolled by more than 60,000 employers. This together with young worker opt-out rates remaining very low puts Auto Enrolment in a good place. This is despite the new Lifetime ISA, announced by George Osbourne in the 2016 budget, which is perceived by many commentators to undermine Auto Enrolment and the 2016 report produced by ShareAction which has highlighted the ‘troubling’ and ‘uninspiring’ state of the Auto Enrolment market with many pension providers scoring low on governance, transparency, accountability and customer service.
For many of Beststart HR’s clients, a key aspect of rolling out Auto Enrolment within their workplace has been getting the message across to employees – a concrete communications plan early on in the project can save much stress, anxiety and ‘question asking’ further down the line.
We have a number of communication packages and resources to help clients navigate the Auto Enrolment process with ease.
