James, who prefers to go by ‘Harvey’, started his working life in the construction industry; starting his own family business in 2003 providing building services to some of the UK’s largest house builders. After successfully selling the business just before the housing market crash in 2008, Harvey entered the complex and exciting world of HR and worked for Europe’s largest independent Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycler, spearheading their HR through the company’s rapid expansion.
After several years in the Recycling and Manufacturing industry, Harvey started working in a consultancy based role, using his commercial acumen, experience and legislative knowledge to provide cost effective and results-driven services to small and medium businesses across the UK, servicing many international businesses with UK based operations. Working in this type of role has afforded Harvey the opportunity to gain experience in the majority of UK industries, working with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
Harvey has experience in leading various large and small scale change management projects, design and implementation of wide reaching learning and development solutions, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Having worked both for internal HR functions and in providing HR services, Harvey has worked on a large array of complex employee relations cases.
As a true generalist, Harvey specialises in finding the right solution for your problem and delivering the results, whether it be an employee relations case, a learning and development or succession planning system or solution or change management process.
Harvey is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute in Personnel and Development.
