Management Training
It is common in many organisations for individuals to be promoted to ‘manager’ because of their excellent professional skills; however, this does not mean that they will automatically be excellent managers. Most managers are increasingly expected to handle all the people issues that arise in their team including recruitment, induction, feedback, performance management, absence management and more challenging areas such as disciplinaries and grievances. Ensuring that managers have the skills to handle these will increase the likelihood of a motivated, engaged and productive team whilst reducing the possibility of costly tribunal claims.
Our management training will give managers the confidence and ability to deal effectively and competently with an array of employee issues. The training is conducted at your premises and can be delivered in 2 hour modules or these can be put together to create half or whole day programmes, whichever suits the needs of your organisation. Modules can be spaced out and, if time allows, active learning style projects can be built in between the modules. Whilst there is a framework for each course, the content is tailored to ensure that it supports, reinforces and works with your structure; policies, procedures and processes; and culture.
Our modules include:
- Interview skills – the basics
Competency-based interview skills
Encouraging teamwork
Motivating a team
Giving feedback
Performance management
Managing people-centred change
Communication skill
Delegation
Managing conflict
Coaching skills
Disciplinaries
Grievances
Absence management
- Other modules can be written on request.
