HR Consultant and Workplace Mediator
With a background in the financial services sector, Tommy worked as Associate Director of HR at British Arab Commercial Bank (BACB) which was originally majority-owned by HSBC. He has experience in many areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, employment law, recruitment, redundancies, compensation and benefits, performance management, absence management, investigations, disciplinary and grievances. He has experience in managing company-wide payrolls, both UK and overseas, as well as annual end of tax year reporting.
Tommy has managed all levels of large scale company-wide projects, including the integration of a HR and payroll system; the formulation and introduction of values, competencies and behaviours; the implementation of a new grading structure; the design of a performance management process and employee engagement surveys.
At BACB he held the Chair of various committees, including Vision and Values; Culture; Employee Engagement; and Staff Recognition and Reward Scheme. In addition, he was a member of their Health & Safety Committee and Trustee of their Pension Schemes.
Tommy has an avid interest in employee engagement, values, competencies, behaviour and wellbeing at work and is aware of the impact this has on both individuals and organisations.
He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute in Personnel and Development, a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Management. Tommy is a fully qualified workplace mediator and holds The National Certificate in Workplace Mediation™, the UK’s benchmark qualification for workplace, employment and business mediators.
